National Law University Tripura (NLU Tripura), established in 2022, is a premier state government law university located at Narsingarh, Tripura. It was set up by the Government of Tripura under the National Law Universities model to provide quality legal education in the Northeast. Admissions Open 2026: Courses, Eligibility & Fees
National Law University Tripura (NLU Tripura), located in Narsingarh, Agartala, was established in 2022 by the Government of Tripura and is recognized by the UGC and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). It is among the newest National Law Universities in India, created to expand access to quality legal education in the Northeast. The university offers five‑year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), one‑year LL.M., and Ph.D. programs. Admissions to the B.A. LL.B. program are conducted through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), while LL.M. admissions are based on CLAT‑PG. Eligibility requires 10+2 with at least 45% marks for UG programs, a law degree for LL.M., and postgraduation with 55% marks for doctoral programs. Fees are affordable compared to older NLUs, ranging between ₹1.2–₹2 lakhs per year.
Campus Life and Facilities
The NLU Tripura campus is located in Narsingarh, near Agartala, spread across 30 acres with modern infrastructure under development. Facilities include moot court halls, classrooms, a central library, computer labs, hostels, sports complexes, and medical services. As a new institution, the university is steadily expanding its facilities and emphasizes experiential learning through moot courts, legal aid clinics, internships, and research projects.
