About
Mata Tripura Sundari Open University (MTSOU), established in 2020, is a state open university located at Indiranagar, Gomati District, Tripura. Named after the revered goddess Mata Tripura Sundari, the university was set up to expand access to higher education through flexible and distance learning modes. It is recognized by the UGC and affiliated with the Government of Tripura.
MTSOU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate programs across arts, commerce, science, education, and vocational streams, designed to support learners who cannot pursue regular campus-based education. The university provides study centers, digital learning resources, libraries, and support services to ensure accessibility for students across Tripura and beyond.
The institution also facilitates career guidance, skill development, and placement support, helping students prepare for opportunities in government, private, and entrepreneurial sectors. Admissions Open 2026: Courses, Eligibility & Fees
MTSOU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate programs in disciplines such as Arts, Commerce, Education, Social Sciences, and Vocational Studies. Admissions are conducted primarily through merit-based selection and CUET UG/PG for certain programs. Eligibility requires 10+2 with relevant subjects for UG courses and graduation in relevant disciplines for PG programs. Fees are highly affordable, with UG programs costing between ₹10,000–₹20,000 per year and PG programs between ₹15,000–₹30,000 per year, making higher education accessible to rural and urban learners.
